Operation

Operation "Hurricane"

Rolling Cumulus

On 3 October 1952, the United Kingdom became the third country to test nuclear
weapons after the United States and the Soviet Union. The first British test,
code-named ‘Hurricane’, was conducted at the Montebello Islands in Western Australia.

Welcome pilots. You will be part of this historical event, flying RAF transports and helicopters.
Take the scientists from Perth, Australia to the Montebello Islands (Sound Italin don't they?)
where "A" day will catapult the British Empire into the Atomic Age. The clock will start ticking
as you climb into the four engine Hastings trnsport and head on to very unknown skies in the
far off islands and islets. See and hear the explosion which, once again, made our world more dangerous.
